Designed for the Music Encoding Initiative - Fast - Light - Flexible - No dependencies
Verovio supports basic conversion from MusicXML to MEI. When converting from this web interface, the resulting MEI data will be displayed directly in the MEI-Viewer. The MEI file can be saved through the button that will be displayed on the top right.
This feature is highly experimental at this stage, and only the features supported by Verovio will be converted. Everything else will be lost. For a more complete conversion from MusicXML to MEI we strongly recommend to use the MEI XSL stylesheets.
The files below are converted to MEI in your browser and directly displayed with Verovio.
Bach, Invention no. 1 BWV 772 (197Kb)
Chopin, Etude op. 10 no. 12 (1.3Mb)
Schubert, „An die Sonne” D.439 (1.2Mb)
Schubert, „Ständchen” D.923 (583Kb)
You can also try to convert your own MusicXML file. If it works, the file will be displayed with Verovio and you will then be able to save the resulting MEI file.
Important known limitations:
<backup>element will always go back to the beginning of the measure.
<forward>element isn't fully supported.
